The Minions are back!! Despicable Me 2 is in theaters NOW!

Disclosure: Universal Pictures invited me and my family to a pre-screening of Despicable Me 2. As always, all opinions are my own.

Have you gone to see Despicable Me 2 yet? No? What are you waiting for?! The much-anticipated sequel to one of the funniest movies of 2010 hit theaters last Wednesday July 3rd, just in time for the holiday weekend, and we were so excited to be able to attend a pre-screening the week before its release.

The four of us got up bright and early on a Saturday morning to attend the screening, and it was well worth it. Despicable Me 2 is just as funny, if not funnier, than its predecessor. Gru is no longer despicable, but because of his formerly-despicable ways, is recruited by the Anti-Villain League (AVL) to work undercover with agent Lucy Wilde. In the meantime, Agnes turns 6, Margo has a crush, Edith is still the adorable tomboy who thinks boys are yucky, and the girls are yearning for a mom so they try to get Gru to date. And of course those Minions are around to get into trouble.

The kids (and by “the kids” I mean the two little children as well as the two big children that live in our house) had been looking forward to this movie for months, and it did not disappoint. Brandon thought it was, “funny, and the Minions are crazy!”. Matty thought it was, “so funny” and he wants a car like Lucy’s when he grows up. Hubby and I were giggling throughout the entire movie, and I lost it laughing at the end when the Minions broke into song (without giving it away, if you were a teenager in 1994, you’ll absolutely love their performance).

Despicable Me 2 is rated PG, and is a great family movie even the little ones will enjoy. While you’re waiting for your showtime, here are a few ways you can connect with Despicable Me 2 online:
