The Odd Life of Timothy Green

I had the opportunity to preview The Odd Life of Timothy Green, and I highly recommend that everyone watch this inspiring film.

Cindy and Jim Green long for a child, but sadly they are unable to conceive. One stormy night, they write down all the characteristics they wish their child would have, put them in a box and bury it in their garden. The next morning a 10 year old boy appears from the garden, changing their lives in a way they never imagined.

As a parent, the story pulled at my heartstrings. I can imagine Cindy’s pain when faced with the news that she is not able to conceive. I shared her joy when she realized that Timothy was their hearts’ desire, the child they wished and dreamed of having. I smiled as I watched the story unfold, as Cindy and Jim learn to be parents, and Timothy impacts not only their lives, but many others in their community. Timothy’s presence reminds us of a fundamental truth: life is short, take a moment to enjoy and appreciate all the magical moments it has to offer.

About The Odd Life of Timothy Green:
Academy Award®–nominated director/writer Peter Hedges (“Dan in Real Life,” What’s Eating Gilbert Grape”) brings enchantment to the screen with “The Odd Life of Timothy Green.” It’s the inspiring, magical story of a happily married couple, Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton), who can’t wait to start a family but can only dream about what their child would be like. When young Timothy (CJ Adams) shows up on their doorstep one stormy night, Cindy and Jim—and their small town of Stanleyville—learn that sometimes the unexpected can bring some of life’s greatest gifts.
Disney presents “The Odd Life of Timothy Green,” with Ahmet Zappa, Scott Sanders and Jim Whitaker producing, story by Ahmet Zappa and screenplay by Peter Hedges.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green hit theaters today. Go see it, you won’t be disappointed.

Disclosure: Disney Pictures provided me with admission to a pre-screening for The Odd Life of Timothy Green. As always, all opinions are my own.
