So I did it, I ran in my first 5K. I walked about 2/3 of it because my friend, who signed up with me, was alone with her two girls. Her boyfriend got sick so he didn’t make it andwe were pushing strollers. I had the eldest, 58 pounds of resistance throughout the entire 3.1 miles. That being said, my official time was 47:57. Not bad at all, right?
Here are the stats from my phone app. It shows less time because I didn’t start the app until the crowd dispersed and we were able to move quickly. I was not as tired as I expected to be afterwards. It only took me about 10 minutes, maybe less, to recuperate.
My sister ran the 10K, and did it in an hour and 18 minutes. She’s a rockstar!
I’m signing up for the Twilight 5K, coming up in June. My goal is to do the 5K in 30 minutes. I know it’s too soon to reach this goal, but I can certainly try! Plus, I need the training, I promised WB that I’d run the Halloween Half with her, and my friend G is enticing me to run another Half next January.
